7 tips to grow healthier and longer hair (2 of 2)

Today we are coming back with the second part of our best tips to grow longer and stronger hair. If you have not yet read part 1, please click here.

Otherwise, please read on.

  1. MASSAGING

Massage your scalp regularly. Doing so will increase the blood flow to your scalp and stimulate the hair follicles.

This can get results for people who are trying to grow their hair a little bit faster and is extremely good for men who want to avoid losing their hair.

Again, massage the scalp with the pads of the fingers and avoid scratching with your nails.

Attention: As a result of these, some people have reported that their hair became greasier, faster.

  1. Using heat

Using heat on your hair will damage it one way or another. It is better to be aware of it and make choices accordingly.

We have all heard of the many anonymous flat irons that pop up every year at trade shows, claiming that they are the brand new thing, the “revolution” we have all been waiting for… They supposedly do not damage the hair but instead repair it.

No. It will probably exist some day. Maybe someone is even working on it right now. But for the moment, it does not exist.

Bad flat irons will burn your hair to the point you will have to cut it. Good flat irons will damage it only slightly.

Avoid using heat, especially direct heat, on your hair.

If you have a lot of volume and you wish to go for a sleek blow out, start with large rollers to air dry or diffuse your hair. This will cut the time your hair will be directly exposed to heat.

  1. PAMPERING YOUR ENDS

You have probably heard that your ends are the oldest part of your hair. It is the truth. And the older the hair, the longer it has been exposed to the elements. Your ends are therefore more fragile.

Keep them strong with strengthening treatments.

Keep them detangled and lubricated (especially if your hair is culry). That way, they will not create knots.

  1. Eating Healthy

As with many things, having a healthy diet is of great help if you wish to grow your hair to the fullest of its abilities.

Some people will smoke, undergo major stress and live on junk food. And their hair will still be luscious. In most cases, however, it does not work.

Your body will distribute its ressources according to priorities. The major organs get attention first. Hair and nails get it last. If you do not have a healthy, balanced diet. Your hair will not have the nutrients it needs to thrive.

The best thing you can do for your hair (and the rest of your body, really) is to live a healthy lifestyle. And do not worry about it so much. Your hair is growing every single minute of every single day. You just have to make sure you are keeping it on your head for as long as you can and in the best conditions possible.
